Awards

Our extra virgin olive oils, the result of the work carried out by the Finca Las Manillas team, have won different national and international awards, both for the quality of the olive oil and for design and presentation.

Finca Las Manillas 1878

Since 1878, at Finca Las Manillas we have dedicated ourselves to the cultivation of olive groves, an experience that we now transfer to obtaining its most precious asset: extra virgin olive oil. At the foot of Sierra Morena, between the Sierras de Andújar and Despeñaperros, in the town of Arquillos, in the Condado region, is Finca Las Manillas with our mountain olive grove divided into two parts: the old high-altitude olive grove in full Mountain range; and the new olive grove area, which is outlined in the flattest part, with gentle hills.

The olive grove of Finca Las Manillas is traditional in a frame of 11×11 meters, in which each olive tree is 3 feet. It has irrigation throughout its entire length, ensuring regularity in production and quality in each campaign.

At Finca Las Manillas we pamper our trees in all phases and exclusively select the best olives to obtain our extra virgin olives. In our mills we only produce olive oil from our own harvest, mostly of the picual and arbequina variety under our Noviembre and Las Manillas brands, where the operations carried out to obtain our EVOOs adhere to differentiated quality systems.

Our olive grove philosophy makes us look to the future as a sustainable way of life, in conjunction with man and his habitat. For this reason, on our farm we are committed to integrated production, using biological and chemical control methods, such as the use of organic fertilizers from pruning residues, we maintain the plant covers between the aisles of our olive grove, which naturally help to fight against soil erosion and encourage the consolidation of the ecosystem’s own fauna.

At Finca Las Manillas we have an agricultural production that is compatible with the search for a more natural, sustainable world and the protection of the environment.

Noviembre extra virgin olive oil comes from our own olive harvest.

The passion for obtaining the best extra virgin olive oil leads us to select centuries-old olive trees from our Sierra olive groves, to be the earliest when harvesting, taking advantage of the first hours of dawn, when the temperature is milder.

The harvesting process is pampered to the millimeter, using the technique of ultrasonic vibration in the trunk and finalizing the harvest with traditional manual shaking, achieving that the olive tree suffers less damage. The fruit is picked up in flight, preventing it from ever touching the ground.

Our olive harvest is milled immediately after harvesting, achieving milder temperatures, achieving optimal storage and transport conditions to the mill.

In the mill, the master miller passes an optimal visual inspection of the selected batches of olives to check their perfect condition and give way to the optimal batches for processing.

Our centenary olive trees, planted in height, offer a lower yield on the days that we use the harvest, but they compensate us with the production of extra virgin olive oils whose exceptional quality makes us different.
